About This Spot

Walking into Tides Inn Steak & Seafood, you immediately sense the kind of familiar comfort that comes from a neighborhood spot rooted deeply in its community. The pace here is unhurried but lively enough to feel welcoming—a place where families span generations, friends gather to share stories, and newcomers quickly find their rhythm. The modest, straightforward setting invites you to settle in without fuss, focusing your attention on the genuine, hands-on hospitality that threads through every interaction.

Behind the scenes, the kitchen offers a bounty of seafood that feels both honest and satisfying. Plates arrive generously portioned, often piled high with familiar favorites that nod to traditional coastal flavors—golden fried oysters, flaky flounder, or a hearty shrimp feast. The menu’s variety makes the experience feel like a personal discovery: whether you’re indulging in broiled dishes with their light, smoky crispness or the indulgent crunchy hushpuppies alongside, each bite feels thoughtfully prepared to warm the soul as much as fill the belly.

There’s a communal atmosphere here, where the attentive servers weave a thread between kitchen and table, their care evident even when the room fills up. It’s the kind of place where you might notice the owner stopping by on a busy evening, adding that extra layer of connection that keeps diners coming back time and time again.

Families appreciate the accommodating spirit, not only in the sizeable portions but in the way the restaurant feels like a shared space—you’ll see kids happily diving into shrimp dinners while adults savor their own coastal classics. Longtime locals and newcomers alike find a kind of steady rhythm here, one that’s part simple American seafood shack and part a gathering place for shared moments.

Tides Inn Steak & Seafood isn’t about polish or pretension; it’s about honest food served with heart, familiar faces, and an atmosphere that invites you to make yourself at home, whether you’re here for a casual meal or an evening that stretches a little longer over good company and good taste.

Ordered scallops and shrimp entree. Food came fast (scallops could have been cooked a little longer but they were still good). Big portions- very little difference between a small plate and a large plate. Don't waste your money on the upcharge for a large plate. Reminds me of Mayflower. Good tartar and cocktail sauces. If you dine in, seating seemed really low...not ideal for taller folks. Overall, my wife and I enjoyed our experience here. We'll go back again (probably for take out)

Delivering 280 chairs tends to lead to hunger! We was on bidness in High point. I asked a warehouse worker where the good seafood was. He said, "Tides Inn." Boy oh boy he was right! The atmosphere was great. We were greeted by a friendly young lady. The waitress was very attentive! The owner came to the table and talked to us,very nice guy! The food was very yummy! I had broiled shrimp, broiled flounder and broiled scallops, loaded potato, hush puppies, and oyster soup and a Arnold Palmer. This place is worth a ride from Winston Salem. I highly recommend this place!

This placing always have great food. The service is always exceptional. Our favorite waitress left however still a great experience. Recent changes made the experience of little different, a little less food, less personal touches. $1 chicken tenders always a plus and they r huge Can be very budget friendly with a side

I've been going for over 8 years, the food is great and the service is good. Prices are climbing but I will cut back on going.. Must stay on budget I had the Alaskan whitefish.

The one blonde headed chick, I think her name was Stephanie, really made the whole experience extra amazing! She was so friendly and helpful! Plus the food was good too. That lady works so hard and I hope they give her a raise because she definitely earns it! I can't wait to go back!
